Spectacular views of Sapporo

Located at the top of a ski jump, the city unfolds around you from this unique viewing platform.

How to Get There

The Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium is accessible by subway or bus, but going by taxi is recommended.

Take a five-minute Tozai Line subway ride from Odori Station to Maruyama Koen Station. From there take the Kuramaru-go bus from Maruyama Koen Station to Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium (around 15 minutes).

The Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium was constructed in 1931

It is one of only a few 90-meter class jumps in the world

An event site for the 1972 Winter Olympics, it is still used for competitions today

Ride to the top

At the base of the observatory, there is the informative, interactive Sapporo Olympic Museum .

A chairlift whisks you up to the Okurayama Observatory and its superb panoramic views 300 meters above sea level. The observatory's operating hours are seasonal, so be sure to check before you go.
