Fireworks, cherry blossoms, and a sports center
Ueno Park is located on reclaimed marshland, the result of reclamation work from the early Edo period (1603–1867). Ueno Park is great for relaxing and picnicking. There is also a sports center where you can pay a fee to use the track and field facilities.

How to Get There
The park is just a few minutes away from Bingo Shobara Station. If you are coming by car, there is also a parking lot.
Ueno Pond
The park is perhaps best known for Ueno Pond, which is lined with cherry trees that blossom in the springtime and are lit at night with paper lanterns. A shrine on the banks of the pond is also lit at night making a beautiful addition to the scenery. The park is one of the Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots in Japan, and Ueno Pond is ideal for a stroll to enjoy the blooms and their reflection in the water.
Summer fun
In the summer, there is a fireworks displays around Ueno Pond. Around 3000 fireworks are set off, and their colorful explosions are reflected on the surface of the pond.
