A world-class performing arts venue with concerts, plays, dance and more

First opened in 1990, the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre was established with the intention of bringing people and the arts together. Concerts, plays, dance recitals and more take place in this truly breathtaking venue.

How to Get There

You can reach the theater by train, followed by a short walk.

The nearest station to the theater is Ikebukuro, with direct access from exit 2B of the subway. The subway lines stopping at Ikebukuro are the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi, Yurakucho and Fukotoshin lines, as well as the Tobu Tojo and Seibu Ikebukuro lines. It is also a two-minute walk from the west exit of Ikebukuro Station.

A modern look

Built with a sleek, modern design and engineered with acoustic enhancements, the theater has four halls, two galleries, two ateliers and rooms for rehearsals and meetings.
