Ropeway
Explore lush marshlands and observe alpine plants in the Hakkoda Mountains.
Hop on the Hakkoda Ropeway to access the flower-covered marshlands on the slopes of the Hakkoda Mountains. Observe beautiful alpine flowers in spring and summer and colorful foliage in autumn. Take the Stargazing Ropeway ride to watch the night sky from the mountaintop (available only in September).

The Hakkoda Ropeway ascends to an altitude of 1,300 meters in 10 minutes and offers excellent aerial views of the Hakkoda Mountains and the surrounding area. In winter, take in bird's-eye views of the frost- and snow-covered trees nicknamed "snow monsters." The ropeway operates throughout the year, subject to weather conditions.
Colorful grasses and foliage along the Hakkoda Gourd Line
The Hakkoda Gourd Line, named for the path's gourd-like shape, is a promenade that winds through the marshes. Choose between the 30-minute or the 60-minute walking course.
View of Tamayochi Marshland
Kenashitai Marshlands Trail is a mostly downhill hiking trail that starts from the Tamoyachi Marshlands at the end of the Hakkoda Gourd Line and takes you down to Sukayu Onsen. It is particularly beautiful in autumn. Although the course is designed for beginners, appropriate hiking gear is recommended.
