Horonobe Visitor Center

Learn about life in the wetlands of Rishiri-Rebun-Sarobetsu National Park

The Horonobe Visitor Center is at the southern end of the Rishiri-Rebun-Sarobetsu National Park along the Sea of Japan.

Visitors to the center can discover more about the plant and animal life of the Sarobetsu Wetlands through videos and exhibits. A geological profile of the wetlands, a diorama about wetland bird ecology, and notices on blooming seasonal flowers and plants are on display.

You can see views of Mount Rishiri from the observation deck on the second floor of the center. Look through the terrestrial telescopes for views of Panke Marsh and Penke Marsh as well as wildlife from a distance.
