A place to learn, relax and enjoy seaside views

Tatsukushi Visitor Center Uminowa is a modern, welcoming facility near the shoreline along the Tatsukushi Coast. The visitor center introduces Ashizuri-Uwakai National Park through various displays that explain the park's unique land and seascape, and the wildlife and marine life that its environment supports. Many of the displays are captioned in both Japanese and English.

The informative multimedia displays introduce the Tatsukushi Coast's dramatic rock formations and coral reefs. The visitor center has a 3D topographical map of the area, specimens of plants, animals and minerals, and a few interactive displays as well as photography exhibits. An information board lists the weather, water conditions and tide times each day. Various interactive events are held regularly at the visitor center.

At the center’s "sightseeing concierge desk," staff can recommend a wide range of activities based on your interests, the season, and the day's weather conditions, such as outdoor water sports or indoor crafts. Some options include glass-bottomed boat tours, sea kayaking, snorkeling, or mejika fish shaving.

Facilities include an outdoor deck facing the sea, an indoor seating area with tables, a nursing room, indoor and outdoor showers, washrooms, coin lockers, vending machines with hot and cold drinks, and a soft play area for children. The building is wheelchair-accessible and a beach wheelchair is available to use free of charge.
