Japan is comprised of 4 main islands - Honshu, Hokkaido, Shikoku, and Kyushu. But let’s not forget the more than 14,000 other islands that comprise the country. Stretching out over the west coast of the southern island of Kyushu, endless views and beautiful beaches make for a relaxing stay. Shinto shrines are some of the most popular attractions in all of Japan. Dotted all over the country, it is estimated that there are around 80,000 shrines across the country, and that’s not even counting the temples (around 77,000).
