Hike through grasslands and forest then ascend Oita's Mt. Fuji
Often called “Bungo Fuji” which means Mt. Fuji of Oita because of its appearance, Mt. Yufu is the landmark of the area and a popular spot for locals and tourists alike.

How to Get There
You can reach the mountain by train and then bus.
Yufuin Station is served by the Kudai Main Line, which has limited express services to Hakata and Beppu. Take the bus for 20 minutes from Yufuin Station and get off at Yufu-tozan-guchi.
Out on the trails
After walking through grasslands and forest, you'll come to a crossroads where you need to choose which peak to ascend.
The east peak is suitable for beginners and might take about two or three hours, while the west peak requires scrambling and climbing, including the use of chains.
