How to Get There
Kakunodate 
is easily accessible by train and bus from Akita City and neighboring areas.
From Kakunodate Station, the Hinokinai River is a 15-minute walk.

A historical tunnel with beautiful blossoms
With more than 400 cherry trees stretching approximately two kilometers, the blooms on the trees droop down to create a long tunnel perfect for walking under along the riverside.
In the samurai district, a five-minute walk from the river, wander alongside the historical samurai houses adorned with cherry blossoms to soak up a historic and scenic experience while stepping back in time.
When to go
The festival is from April 20 until May 5. More than 1.2 million tourists visit each year.
