The best way to really see the blossoms is by car or bike.

You can get to the area via the Kyushu Shinkansen to Shin-Minamata Station. The closest train stations, Shin-Minamata Station and Minamata Station (on the Hisatsu Orange Railway Line), are around a one-hour walk to the cherry tree line. You can get a taxi to the area, which will take about 10 minutes or, even better, rent a bike in town to explore at your own pace.

The stunning natural surroundings make the Yunoko Cherry Line one of the top places for sakura viewing during spring. Visitors can view the blooms by car or bike, or catch a glimpse from the train line, which hugs the coast. Make a day of it by visiting the relaxing Yunoko hot springs.

Cherry blossoms bloom at different times each year depending on the weather and temperature, but they usually reach their peak in the last week of March.
