How to Get There
Reach the Arita Ceramic Fair via public transport.
The fairgrounds stretch between Arita Station and Kami-Arita Station. Head to Arita Station, which is about 40 minutes from Saga via the JR Sasebo line. If traveling from Hakata Station, hop on an express train to Arita and take the 90-minute ride.
Grab the best bargains
Arita-yaki, or pottery from Arita , is famous across Japan. This fair is a great time to obtain some quality items at affordable prices. Seemingly invisible flaws in pottery, recognizable only to the potters themselves, will result in significant price drops. It is common to find unique ceramic items at very low prices at this event.
Relax with a drink and keep the cup
Some places even sell coffee and tea at only 300 yen per ceramic cup, which you actually get to keep. In addition to the stalls, there are local festivities, and some potteries are known to open their kilns to the public. Don't miss out on this chance to stock up on some quality gifts.
