Portside action
Bayside Place is home to the Hakata Port Tower, an observation deck that is twinned with Fukuoka Tower. Hakata Port Tower is approximately 100 metres high and offers a spectacular view of Fukuoka City, and admission is free.
When to go for oysters and fireworks
From December to March every year, oyster hut operators set up stands at Bayside Place Hakata. Oyster huts are usually found in the Itoshima area of Fukuoka, but the stands at Bayside Place make it easy to enjoy oysters close to Tenjin and Hakata, especially for those without a car.
Bayside Place also hosts numerous firework displays throughout the year, with the fireworks exploding over Hakata Bay.
