An art complex with breathtaking views of Sagami Bay

Enoura Observatory overlooks Sagami Bay in Odawara . Founded in 2017 by the Odawara Art Foundation, which was established by contemporary artist Hiroshi Sugimoto, this complex was built to show visitors the essence of Japanese culture. This spot is perfect for those with a love of art and architecture.

How to Get There

The Enoura Observatory is accessible via a free shuttle bus from Nebukawa Station.

Take the JR Tokaido Line from Odawara Station to Nebukawa Station (seven minutes). Take the free shuttle bus from Nebukawa Station to the Enoura Observatory (10 minutes).

Note: Due to the limited number of seats on the shuttle bus, it is recommended that you reserve a seat when buying your ticket to Enoura Observatory online.

Alternatively, you can take a taxi from Manazuru Station (10 minutes).

Explore the many facets of the Enoura Observatory

In its spacious complex, Enoura Observatory houses a 100-meter-long gallery built to frame the sun at dawn, a tea ceremony room, the restored Meigetsu Gate from the Muromachi period (1338-1573), and a beautiful strolling garden, just to name a few attractions. You will also find a range of Japanese architectural styles, from medieval to contemporary.
