Over 500 cherry trees in a beautiful mountainside park
Spacious, grassy lawns, easy walking paths, and plenty of park benches make this the perfect place to appreciate nature at Seibu Park in Tokushima City , especially when the cherry trees are in bloom.
How to Get There
Seibu Park is easily accessible via train and car or foot.
The park is located on the slopes of Mt. Bizan and is about a 30-minute walk from Kuramoto station on the JR Tokushima Line. Alternatively, it is a short, 10-minute taxi ride away from the station.
A lovely park close to the city
Seibu Park, to the west of Mt. Bizan's summit, is home to about 550 Yoshino cherry trees. These trees are generally in full bloom from the end of March to the beginning of April and create such a beautiful sight that the park is counted among Japan's 100 best by the Japan Cherry Blossom Association.
Lovely day or night
You can see cherry blossoms on the approach to the park via a trail that starts halfway up Mt. Bizan as well as sections of trees that form tunnels of blossoms. The cherry blossoms are also illuminated at night using paper lanterns hung up above.
Monumental kaleidoscope
Set aside a day for Tokushima City , which is known for its close proximity to Mt. Bizan.
Also, once you're at the peak of Mt. Bizan, check out Mayuge-kyo. This is a 6m-high kaleidoscopic monument of light and color, made up of over 4000 LED lights.
