On a clear day, look for Mt. Iwate looming in the background. When in season, the pink cherry blossoms make a picturesque contrast to the snow-capped mountain.
One for the birds
Every winter, a large number of birds including swans, osprey, and ducks, migrate to Takamatsu Park. Bird-watching is a popular activity.
Further afield
A visit to Takamatsu Park can also be combined with other activities. From Takamatsu Park, you can also visit the Iwate Prefectural Museum, the Prefectural Baseball Stadium, or Iwate Park . All are just a short bus ride away.
