Pink blossoms in a riverside park
For centuries, many have sat under the blooming cherry trees of Sumida Park to celebrate the arrival of spring. If your visit coincides with this season, do the same and enjoy views of Tokyo Skytree at the same time.

How to Get There
The festival takes place on the Taito ward side of the Sumida River.
Sumida Park's entrance is a three-minute walk from Asakusa Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza and Toei Subway Asakusa lines, and 5 minutes from Asakusa Station on the Tobu Skytree Line.
Spring in Asakusa
Around 510 cherry trees bloom in the park from mid-March to early April. The blossoms provide a stunning backdrop to the nearby Tokyo Skytree . After dark, the tunnel of cherry blossoms is lit up. Join the locals in the revelry of hanami.
For an extra special experience, book a cruise on a yakatabune pleasure boat to get a perfect view of the flowering trees from the water.
