How to Get There

The waterway is best accessed by taxi or rent-a-cycle.

Riding through the neighborhood

Take a bicycle ride along the Hashimoto River for a more meandering route. Once you get to the Aiba Waterway, it is best to walk with your bike to enjoy the scenery to the fullest, but watch out for the occasional car since the streets are narrow and winding.

Visit samurai residences along the Aiba Waterway

Cross the small stone bridges to enter some of the traditional residences and discover how people in the Edo period used the Aiba Waterway in their daily lives. Visit the former Yukawa residence to see a water garden created by water channeled from the Aiba Waterway.
