A hot-spring resort with a thousand-year reputation
It may be tough to choose which hot-spring resort to visit in Japan, but if you are traveling between Nagoya and Kyoto, head to Yunoyama Onsen. It is a relaxing spot with activities and scenery to keep you entertained.

How to Get There
Yunoyama Onsen is best reached by bus or taxi from the nearest train station, Yunoyama Onsen Station on the Kintetsu Line.
Kintetsu trains can get you to Yunoyama Onsen Station in about an hour from Nagoya and two and a half hours from Osaka-Namba and Kyoto. If you have a JR Rail Pass, consider the bullet train from Kyoto.

The hot springs at Yunoyama Onsen have been a popular tourist destination for over a millennium. The resort is also known as “deer onsen” because the waters are said to heal the local deer.
Your stay at the resort
There are a dozen or so different inns of various capacities and a number of local cafes and pubs.
If you are seeking more activities in the area, look to nearby Mt. Gozaisho . You can take the Gozaisho Ropeway up to the park, ski resort, and hiking trails at the summit.
