A 4,000-meter downhill slope and tons of activities on some of Hokkaido's best snow

Furano's inland location blesses the resort with some of the highest quality snow in Hokkaido. The resort's slopes are divided into two zones: the Furano Zone at the New Furano Prince Hotel and the Kitanomine Zone at the Furano Prince Hotel. Both areas have a wide variety of courses, the longest of which is 4,000 meters long. Skiers of all levels can take advantage of this diversity, with beginner and intermediate trails each making up 40% of the resort. Even first-timers will enjoy the long cruising course to the foot of the slopes. From the Furano Zone base, get whisked to 900-meter elevation in a high-speed ropeway that holds 101 people. Downtown Furano is right nearby, with a range of restaurants, bars and izakaya for après-ski relaxation.

By train

Furano Station is about two hours from Sapporo Station. The resort is a 10-minute taxi ride from Furano Station.

By car

Furano is roughly two hours from Sapporo, 1 hour 25 minutes from Asahikawa and 2 hours 25 minutes from Obihiro. There is a free shuttle bus between Sapporo and Furano for guests staying at the Prince Hotel.

By plane

The New Furano Prince Hotel, located at the base of the Furano Zone, is characterized by its easy access to the slopes and its beautiful views. The New Prince Hotel Furano features three restaurants that highlight seasonal Hokkaido ingredients: the course-style Main Dining Room, Italian cuisine at Le Gaulois, and Japanese-style restaurant Karamatsu. Guests can relax both body and mind in the Shisai no Yu spa, which offers a range of relaxation facilities including hot spring baths. Soh's Bar, a seven-minute walk from the hotel, is the perfect place to unwind with a drink while listening to oldies in a relaxed atmosphere. Daycare and supervised skiing for the little ones

Furano Snow Kids Care, located next to the Kitanomine gondola base, is a childcare center catering to international visitors. Programs inlcude indoor play, outdoor snow activities and ski experiences. One-hour private lessons are even available for an extra fee. Full-day and half-day plans are available, and the full-day program includes lunch. The center is geared toward children from 1 to 5 years old, so inquire for children younger than 12 months. In the Furano Zone, Pandaruman Kids Ski School offers ski lessons on artificial mat slopes.

Tons of fun beyond the ski slopes

For other types of thrilling snow fun, head to WakuWaku Family Snow Land, just a two-minute walk from the New Furano Prince Hotel. There you can try activities such as snow rafting, snowmobiling and snowshoeing. Furano Kan Kan Mura Snow Night Fantasy, located next to the New Furano Prince Hotel, offers snow tubing, a snow cafe, night activities and dog sledding.
