Mt. Tsurugi
At a height of 1,955 meters, Mt. Tsurugi in Tokushima Prefecture is the second-highest mountain in western Japan. The most popular route up the mountain can be accessed via chairlift, making it suitable for both experienced hikers and beginners. Mt. Tsurugi is sacred, and locations used for ascetic practices can be seen during the ascent. Its peak is a flat ridgeline, providing excellent views of the forested valleys below. While in the area, be sure to explore the rest of the scenery, such as Oboke-Koboke Gorge and the Iya Valley. Enjoy some well-earned relaxation with a soak in a hot spring at Iya Onsen.

Access
From JR Tokushima Station, take the train for about an hour and 10 minutes to JR Anabuki Station. From there, take a local bus to Minokoshi.
