Step inside the workshop of Japan’s last Shinshu sawmaker
Shinshu sawmaking is a dying art, with only one craftsman, Kanehiro Morozumi, still thought to be forging the traditional saws in Japan. He uses the skills passed down to him by his father. Admire his precision and take part in a workshop to learn more about the craftsmanship that goes into making and sharpening these high-quality pieces. You can even try sharpening the saw teeth yourself.
