High thrills on the water in the activity hub of Niseko
Niseko in Hokkaido is best known as a mecca for powder snow and winter sports. However, there is plenty on offer for avid adventurers all year round. In spring, snowmelt causes the Shiribetsu River to rise by two meters, creating a watery stage for white water rafting (between Hirafu and Niseko stations). The river is one of the clearest in Japan and a beautiful natural spot to explore.
