Which countries/regions are exempted from Visa for visiting Japan?
From 11th October 2022, Japan allows visa exemption arrangements as same as it did before COVID-19. For more information, please also check the MOFA website.
What kind of COVID-19 certificate do I need to get before visiting Japan?
Those who enter Japan on or after April 29th 2023 are not be required to present a valid vaccination certificate or a Covid-19 negative test certificate.
Is travel insurance mandatory for visitors to Japan?
It is not mandatory, but it is strongly recommended that you purchase a private medical insurance with adequate coverage and services that includes coverage for medical expenses related to COVID-19.

What is the procedure for entry when I arrive in Japan?

Do I have to isolate after entry?
From October 11th, 2022, self-isolation is no longer required for all returnees and entrants in principle.
What should I do if my travel companions or I feel ill?

Do I have to wear a face mask?
Mask use largely depends on personal decision from 13th March 2023.
