Nestled in the mountains of northern Semboku City, Akita Prefecture, the hot spring resort of Nyuto Onsenkyo has more than 350 years of history. Interspersed throughout the area are seven onsen (hot springs). Each one has its own spring water source and unique mineral properties. All of the hot springs at all seven onsen are said to help one’s body ward off sickness.

Situated north of Kakunodate and Lake Tazawa in Akita Prefecture, Nyuto Onsenkyo is tucked away in the mountains and forests of the Towada-Hachimantai National Park and under the watchful gaze of Mt. Akita-Komagatake. Peace, quiet, and relaxation are yours to be had.

Each of the onsen has different kinds of baths and atmospheres. Try them all by taking a tour. There are two passes exclusively for those staying at Nyuto Onsenkyo and wishing to try all the different onsen types: the Yumeguri Map 1-Day Pass provides unlimited rides on the shuttle bus connecting the onsen, and the Yumeguri Pass, which can be purchased only by ryokan guests, covers the shuttle bus and admission to the baths at all seven ryokan in Nyuto.
